Rocco Ventrella was born in Bari, Italy, and picked up the saxophone at the age of 12. With the album “Give Me The Groove”, the saxophonist received a Pre-Grammy Awards Nomination for Best Contemporary Jazz Album 2007, 5 tracks of the CD hit the Top20 of numerous smooth jazz radio stations. Soon, Rocco made his mark in the scene and appeared in selected jazz festivals including the James Brown Festival (Georgia/USA), the Smooth Jazz Festival Bregenz (Austria), Smooth Jazz in the Cube (Austria) as well as our Smooth Jazz Festivals in Augsburg (Germany), at Lake Maggiore (Italy) and in Sa Coma (Mallorca/Spain). His passion is performing live on stage and touring the world. In his carreer, he shared the stage with some of the most respected smooth jazz artists worldwide such as Peter White, Candy Dulfer, Brian Culbertson, Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Mindi Abair, Paul Brown, Gerald Albright, Nick Colionne, Eric Darius and many more.
