Saxophonist Michael Lington is a native of Denmark. It was in 1990 that he moved to Los Angeles, becoming a U.S. citizen in 2008. He got his musical start in Bobby Caldwell’s band and has been a familiar face on contemporary jazz since his self titled major-label debut in 1997. Since then, Michael’s tracks keep conquering the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts and he has wowed and seduced his fans continuously with infectious melodies, rich emotion, funky grooves and a powerful innate force. In his career, that spans more than 18 years, apart from Bobby Caldwell Lington has collaborated with many other top artists like Michael Bolton, Barry Manilow, Taylor Dayne, Kenny Lattimore, Randy Crawford and many others. Michael has also performed for the Danish royal family (including the wedding reception of Crown Prince Frederik) numerous times. When he’s not recording or performing, he manages his own cigar company and he recently launched Lington Wines, his own boutique line of fine wines out of Paso Robles, California.
