GERALD VEASLEY

Bass

Gerald Veasley’s musical odyssey has taken him to the top of the contemporary music world; his performance as a bassist has been top shelf. He has recorded and/or performed with many of the world’s top artists in many genres of music such as Grover Washington Jr., Chuck Loeb, Kim Waters, Nick Colionne, Special EFX, Teddy Pendergrass, Will Downing and Pat Martino. When not collaborating with notable musicians, Gerald tours and records with his band. Beyond that he is on the faculty of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, he is founder and artistic director of Gerald Veasley’s Bass BootCamp, he is the curator of the “Unscripted Jazz Series” at South (a bar with Jazz parlor in Philadelphia, where his CD “Live at South” was captured) with special guests such as Kirk Whalum, Jeff Lorber or Gerald Albright, and most recently, he has been selected to lead “Jazz Philadelphia”, an initiative that seeks to unify the city’s vibrant jazz community. Whatever Gerald does, he always brings a joyous, polished professionalism to the process of making music and he always continues to blur musical boundaries.
