BRIAN BROMBERG

Bass

Brian Bromberg grew up in a family of musicians and played drums at first. At around the age of 13, the director of his school orchestra introduced and convinced him to play the (upright) bass. After years of strict practice regimen, devoting all his time to music, Brian has evolved into a respected voice in music industry, smashing through the barriers of how the bass is supposed to be played. Meanwhile Grammy-nominated, his technically demanding style ranges from funny and funky to wild, rocking and crazy or swinging to mellow and soothing. He can play two- and three-note chords on demand, he can sound like four players at once and he can make bass sound like a guitar. His new release “Thicker Than Water” (July 2018) is a high energy, funky, in your face project, that that he has been wanting to make for years. Live horn sections rounding out a truly fun and positive energy listening experience. The album features artists like: Najee, George Duke, Randy Brecker, Everette Harp, Paul Jackson Jr. Brian Simpson and Marion Meadows.
